Welcome to the web site of the Eastern Thumpers, a national pre-65 trial run by the Eastern Fourstroke Association in the East of England. Currently the organising club, the Eastern Fourstroke Association, does not
have its own web site and at the currrent rate of progress probably never will! Nevertheless, this site has been prepared anyway as a service to past, present and future riders as well as anyone who may be a
spectator or someone interested in learning a little more about the pre-65 scene in East Anglia. We still live in the hope that the E.F.A. will have its own web site in due course but that may be some time off.
Until then, this web site will have to suffice.
The Eastern Fourstroke Association which runs the Eastern Thumpers trial is the premier pre-65 trials club in the Eastern Centre of the A-C.U. and we suspect, probably one of the premier pre-65 trials clubs in the
country but..... if you know differently, please contact us.
As of the event to be run in 2008, the Eastern Thumpers will have been running for 28 years without a break although in 2000, it had to be postponed a couple of months due to adverse weather conditions. However, the
event has proved to be very popular, with riders entering from many parts of the country. Not surprisingly though, most are from the Eastern Centre of the A-C.U. and its adjacent centres. Occasionally we have also
had entries from France and Sweden as well. However, it is now some years since foreign riders have entered.
Entries numbers have varied from between 95 and 140 which is about as many as we can reasonably accept. We layout sections for all classes of pre-65 rider and machine, the classes being Pre-unit, Unit, Tele-Rigid,
Girder-Rigid, 2-Stroke, Sidecars and Specials. The Specials class is intended for machines which are considered to fall outside the spirit of pre-65 competition but has been included so that no-one who wants a ride
is turned away. On this site you will find the award winners and items from previous Thumpers programmes/results.
The event for 2008 will be held on 23rd November and as such, the permit has been applied for, and received, and regulations have now been released. As has become the standard practice in recent years, all riders of
the past two year’s events have been sent a set of regs. However, you will also find a file on this page (click the graphic on the right above) that you can download which comprises the regulations and entry
form for the 2008 event.
PS If you are new to computing, you may also find our general computing pages of use.
